International Choreographer Fusion Boosts GMA’s Party Pilipinas
They say that you can beat a show in the standings time and time again every year in every poll but you simply cannot keep a good show, and an extremely competitive one at that, down on the ground for long. After losing to ASAP, rival network ABS-CBN’s long-standing Sunday prime time show, year after year, it may seem to the untrained eye that SOP and its veterans are finally calling it quits and hanging up the gloves after more than a decade of stiff competition. Richard Gutierrez Ruled Innocent by Department of Justice
Annabelle Rama was all smiles and happy tears when her son Richard Gutierrez was cleared of the Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide filed against him by Lorayne Pardo, the widow of Gutierrez’s former personal aide Nomar Prado. Nomar died from an accident involving the young actor who was behind the wheel last May 22, 2009 on the Tagaytay-Santa Rosa road in Silang, Cavite. This ruling in favor of Richard reversed the first findings by the Cavite Provincial Prosecutor last September 18, 2009 that there is enough probable cause to haul Richard to court.
Lorayne Pardo reiterated that she filed the case last July 23, 2009 not for the sole purpose of sending Richard to jail and especially not to bleed the actor’s clan of settlement money as most tabloid reporters buzz around. She said that she only wanted some concrete answers to the nagging questions that robbed her of sleep because of unclear circumstance and evidences regarding his husband’s death that are still shrouded with doubt and uncertainty.
But in the official resolution decided in the court of law signed by outgoing DOJ Secretary Agnes Devanadera, she said that reports from the police as well as further investigations surrounding the accident yielded no results of foul play and reckless imprudence on the part of Richard that rendered Lorayne’s allegation “hearsay at best.” The totaled car and the extensive damages that disfigured it beyond recognition were also not enough to conclude that Richard was driving at breakneck speed and breaking the limit set by the law.
No Confirmation yet for Ryan and Juday’s First Baby
Ryan Agoncillo neither confirmed nor denied the allegations and floating rumors that his wife and superstar Judy Ann Santos is pregnant with his child, just a few short months after their star-studded wedding that was the event for the year in the world of show business. The talented young actor was indeed excited about their first child but would rather not keep his hopes too high because he might be disappointed and distracted by negative reports. And until the doctors and medical experts confirm that a baby is really on the way, this young husband and a father in the making would just have to keep his fingers crossed and his prayers more fervent.

That’s why the industry’s new power couple are really trying to expand their family despite their busy schedules and demanding jobs. A baby in their life is all Ryan needs to motivate him to strive and push harder with his current work with “Talentadong Pinoy” in TV5 and “Eat Bulaga” in GMA 7 as well as a slew of advertising contracts with numerous local products.
And because of his non-exclusive deal with TV5, he renewed and signed a 3-year contract under the station. This enables him to work outside of the company’s shows and he has free rein over the projects that he accepts or rejects. He says he loves his job and the people he works with are like family. Plus, because of his many projects, he rakes in serious amounts of money thereby securing his future child’s future, whether or not Judy Ann is indeed pregnant. He can only wait and hope for the best but the man sure is financially ready and stable for a bigger family.
Kris Aquino: Taking One for the Team
There is such a thing as crass and distasteful tactlessness, and of that we should reign our tongues and learn to govern our statements because words cut deeper than swords indeed. But there are those harmless, snide comments and jokes said in goodwill and in the spirit of friendship that are taken as offensive because of miscommunication. Many relationships have been weighed and measured because of these misunderstandings and the lives of the showbiz elite are no exception.
Kris Aquino is feeling the brunt of Ruffa Gutierrez’s clannish supporters led by her feisty and sharp-tongued mother Anabelle Rama. The overprotective lioness pounced hard and growled as she bared her teeth in defense of her cub, such furious retaliation and whiplash that analysts even dare say that it will have detrimental effects on Noynoy Aquino’s candidacy for President. Now Kris Aquino is scrambling to backpedal as fast as she could for damage control, especially now that the race is heating up and firing on all cylinders. And for the sake of brotherhood as well as friendship, the straightforward and unafraid queen of tactlessness (as many paint and perceive her to be) swallowed her mammoth pride and apologized on national television even if she did nothing wrong aside from joke with a close friend. The nation witnessed a humble Kris Aquino and the people liked what they saw.
It’s all a bad case of miscommunication. Even the strongest of marriages and the most stalwart of couples have been caught and deterred by a few snags because of misinterpreted signals, both in words and actions. Kris did a great job of doing her part so Ruffa must now meet her in the middle and accept her heartfelt and sincere apology. And I must say that Anabelle Rama just blew it out of proportions once again, just as she always does when backing her children up.

ABS CBN Says Show Suspension is ‘Not Fair’
Network giant ABS CBN finds suspension of its noontime show “Showtime” by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on January 11 highly questionable.
The 20 day suspension of the show is caused by explicit and vulgar remarks of the show’s guest judge Rosanna Roces during the January 4 and 7 episode of “Showtime”. ABS CBN’s chief counsel Maximillian Uy argued that the guidelines and bases for such suspension are vague.
Roces was removed from the show the day after she uttered the remarks.
The suspension was ordered by the MTRCB after the guest judge has been removed from the show.
The network giant immediately replaced “Showtime” with “Magpasikat” the day after the suspension as been ordered. The latter show has been reformatted but the hosts were still the same. This action made MTRCB issue another order to suspend the new noontime show.
There were charges saying that ABS CBN was just trying to get out of the MTRCB order by creating another show to replace the suspended noontime show. Uy reacted to this and said “the order covered a specific program. The same hosts and concept don’t make it the same show.”
“Showtime” is now being aired on ABS CBN.

Dolphy Leaves ABS CBN
The Philippines’ Comedy King Dolphy left his long time network ABS CBN to do projects with another television network.
After endorsing presidential candidate Manny Villar on television, Dolphy decided to sign a contract with TV5, owned by Manny Pangilinan who heads one of countries giant telecommunications, Smart.
The actor told ABS CBN about his decision. His most recent show in the network has been dropped. He had the chance to talk with ABS CBN Entertainment Head Linggit Tan during the celebration of the Wowowee TV host Willie Revillame’s birthday in January regarding his decision.
Dolphy thinks ABS CBN felt bad about his decision. He said he loves the network but he has to move on. He has been badly waiting for a job for three years. He will now be working with TV5 but will always be available should ABS CBN need him.
His contract with TV5 is non exclusive.
He also said that his reason for accepting the TV5 project is to provide jobs for more people.
Dolphy hopes his stay in TV5 will be fruitful. He was given a warm welcome by TV5 management during a meeting.
Two of his sons are included in the cast of his new show in TV5, while Eric Quizon, another son, will direct it.

The recently concluded Tayong Dalawa has been instrumental to show that Gerald Anderson is a brood of talents and looks. This year, Gerald Anderson is again off to a good start as he plays the role of Robbie Sebastian in a telenovela Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, one that will surely be a hit once again.

A resume is a self-advertising document that presents you (being the product) in the best possible perspective. It should not talk about past jobs, it should focus on YOU- how you performed and what you accomplished in those past jobs. Hence, it is better if you remove everything that starts with “responsibilities included” and instead, start with “on-the-job accomplishments.”
Below are some tips on how to write effective resumes:
1. Decide on a “job objective”. The job objective can be as brief as 5 to 6 words only. This gives the employer the idea about your goals in applying in the company.
2. Determine the type of resume that suits you: Chronological or Functional or Skills-oriented? Use the first if you’re staying in the same field; the second one if you’re changing fields; and the last type if you’re want to impress the employer about your transferable skills.
3. Make your resume filled with Problem-Action-Results (PAR) statements.
4. Resumes should never include your hobbies unless they are relevant to your job objective.
5. Ethnic or religious affiliations are not ideal to be included in your resumes as these may invite pre- interview discrimination.
6. Stationeries and special papers, especially those that are scented are not for resumes. Instead, use plain white or ivory, in a quality appropriate for your job objective.
Sandara Parks: Regaining the Stardom that was
The shy and timid demeanor of a Korean girl captivated the heart of the Filipinos in 2004. It was Sandara Parks and her unusual, uncanny genial and smart disposition, despite her timidity that made her one of a kind and a star in her own right when she joined ABS-CBN’s star search Star Circle Quest. No one had ever expected a foreigner to be loved that much in Philippine television, but Sandara’s famous lines “Mahal ko Kayo” and “Krung-krung” that enlisted her as a favorite all throughout the talent search.
Sandara Parks, Sandara or Sandy for some people, is a native of Busan, South Korea. Her life in the Philippines was a combination of work made by fate and effort. She has on her hand the fate to be famous, and it was her effort to prove to people that such fate is rightfully hers. She starred in many shows, series, and movies. However around 2007, the light of Philippine showbiz had gradually dimmed on Sandara’s career. This was the time that she also decided to go back to her country.
